Domino’s Pizza Restaurant Company was founded by Tom Monaghan, Dominick DiVarti and James Monaghan in 1960. The firm has it is headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. The firm is one of the major producers of Pizza and related products in the United States. In addition to Pizza, which is the main product of the firm, the organization has also ventured into the production of a variety of products such as chicken wings, Pasta Pizza, and Dessert. The addition products have helped the firm to increase the revenue of the firms and reach to many customers across the world. SWOT-Analysis aims to study the external and internal environment of the firm so as determine where the firm is prospering and the areas where it is meeting difficulties (Bhasin, 2019).
Strengths
The first strength is that the firm has a reliable distribution network that has helped the firm to distribute its products to all its customers across the United States. The firm has also build depots in different areas that enable the firm to bring products closer to the customers. The second strength is that the firm has a strong market strategy that enables the firm to meet the needs of the customers in all the market. The company has also involved in mergers and acquisition that enable the company to expand its distribution and reduce the cost of production to increase the satisfaction of the customers. The firm has highly motivated employees because of the investment in employees to build their skills and knowledge. The company has also automated their systems to enable the firm to reduce the cost of operations (Bhasin, 2019).
Weaknesses
The first weakness of the firms is the strict structure which hinders its expansion. The firm has existed for over 50 years but has failed to introduce other products which would have increased the revenue of the company. The second weakness of the firm is the failure to counter the challenges arising from the new firms in the industry. The company has lost some of its small markets which have been taken by the new companies in the market. The company has failed to break out of its Pizza, which is its primary products. Some of the products introduced in the firm has failed to increase the revenue of the firm.
Opportunities
There are opportunities that the firm can use to increase its revenue and success in the industry. The first opportunity is the online buyers. The firm needs to invest in technology to take advantage of the existed online buyers. The health-conscious campaign has created an opportunity for the firm to produce goods that are needed by the population who are health-conscious. The company can also decentralize its production to cut the cost of production through reduced transportation cost. The decrease in production cost will help the firm to increase its revenue and meet the needs of more customers. The firm also needs to expand its operations in the developing world whose market is not yet exhausted (Duckett, 2008).
Threats
The company has direct and indirect competition that affect the revenue of the firm. There are new entrants into the industry as well as the old competitors that reduce the market niche of Domino’s Pizza restaurant company. The second threat that the firm faces are the production of counterfeit products that are sold at lower prices, thus reducing the revenue generated by the company (Bhasin, 2019).
